Zedekiah - High Level Official

Zedekiah served under Nehemiah (Governor of Judah) who signed (sealed) a covenant with numerous others saying they would obey God's Law.

While not much is known about this Zedekiah, the fact that he is mentioned next to the Nehemiah tells us that he likely held a prominent position of some sort. Some translations make it seem as though Zedekiah was a priest, the first of the list of priests that otherwise begins after his name is mentioned.

Worthy of Note:
Sources outside the Bible say that there was a High Priest named Zedekiah during the time of Solomon's Temple, however, he would have died centuries earlier.
