"I am the way and the truth and the life." - John 14:6
"I am the light of the world." - John 8:12
"I and the Father are one." - John 10:30
Jesus was the embodiment of God as a man. He came and lived a life without sin so that He could take our sins upon Himself in order to make a way for us to have eternal life and be forever free! Being a man, He was able to die, which is the price for all sin, but being God, He was able to defeat death in order to advocate for us to the Father! Now, when we choose to accept Him as our Savior, to trust Him with our Salvation, the Father will not see our sin, but rather, will see the glory of His Son reflected upon us!
Jesus taught about the heart. Rather than focusing on the contraints and even limitations of the Law, He wanted us to focus on the status of our hearts. For if our heart belongs to the Lord, then we too belong to Him. Laws cannot determine the status of the heart, and they do not save one from ones guilt in light of eternity. Jesus fulfilled the Law which none could follow... save for Jesus Himself.
