Jesus - The Messiah

"I am the way and the truth and the life." - John 14:6

"I am the light of the world." - John 8:12

"I and the Father are one." - John 10:30

Jesus said that God was His Father in a way that no rabbi had ever dared, and the leaders of His own people killed Him for it. They understood His statement better than most modern readers do — He was saying that He and the Father were one. He was saying that to look at Him was to look at God Himself. If He was lying, then He died for a lie that He could have walked away from at any moment. If He was telling the truth, then God came as a man, lived a life without sin, and took our sins onto Himself at the cross. Then, on the third day, He rose from the dead — and the way back to the Father was open to anyone who would come.
