Did you know that trumpets in the Bible are not the brass instruments we use today? No, in fact, many were made from a ram's horn and called a "shofar" by the Jewish people. As you might guess, they sound quite different too! Trumpets in the Bible are not used for music, but for a sounding of alarm or to give notice, a shout. Remember, phones and long distance communication wasn't an option thousands of years ago. So, these "horns" were used to send a warning to the people.

This area of the site will feature information on Biblical items that range from anointing oils to the Temple of God and their significance in scripture as well as our own lives.
