What Really Happened
According to Genesis 7, God instructed Noah to take two of every kind of animal that roamed the land or flew in the air with him on the ark. The only exception were the animals that were deemed acceptable to eat. Since worms were not acceptable to eat, there would have been one male and one female that were to be rescued from the flood.
